unfortunately, such unpleasant stuff happens no matter how "well" u prepare urself & ur family, u still feel upset, sometimes hurt when it happens.

Maybe u've already done these- but If i were u, i would at least let my kid(a 4 yr-old) know that:

-people have different kinds of skin colours. No one colour is better than the others. Like a picture, we need all sorts of colours to make a nice painting.

-u may find u look different from the other kids.this is because people from different places around the world all look different. Like floweres in a garden, all floweres are different but they're all beautiful.

-u're born here(country), but ur mum & dad are from a place called "CHina". Over there, people have black eyes, hair, & yellow skin, they don't have blue or green eyes, no blonde hair & fair skin, like people u meet here. And u're mum & dad's kid, so u look alike us.

-in the kindergarten, if anyone says this to u again, clearly say to them:"it's not nice to say that & i don't like it". if it happens again, go & tell ur teacher(s).
also tell mum & dad.

with kids from various age groups, talk to them in the terms/words they can understand.
