can take full responsibility for his actions and bear the consequences, good or bad.

His "self" is too small. Your personality is too large.

Your husband benefits from your "large" personality.

Your son cannot afford such luxury; he has to live his own life.  He needs more courage.  You don't want him to worry what you'll say if he fails.
