For the sake of parents' sanity, piano is the natural choice...

haha...learning music is just part of the skills one should have...for the sake of fun, for the sake of self-appreciation, or for whatever the reason....

I don't think that many Chinese parents really want their children to become a prefessional artists, such as a musicianm or a painter...arts should be used for enjoyment, for fun, not for making a living...that would take the fun out of it, right?

As to making a living, science, medicine, law, business might be a better choice...

play for the sake of play...not everything is about a material purpose...
