According to US news (2007 edition), the top schools in this area are: Stanford, MIT, John Hopkins, U of Michigan, U of Illinos-Champaign. If you think she might change mind late, then she should apply for big schools. UPenn is pretty good one (location is better than Cornell or Duke). Again, I think she has chance for MIT, CIT.
