1.  Pacific Height / Presidio --- Old money (Pelosi, Feinstein, Larry Ellison, Marrisa Meyer, HF type)

2.  Noe Valley / Eureka Valley / Hayes Valley -- New tech money (Zuckerberg and VC partners, well off tech type)

3.  Sea Cliffs -- Jack Dorsey, Hock Tan folks

4.  Bernal Height / Glen Park  -- Tech working class type

5.  Mission -- Staring out tech type.  A lot of energy in the air, but could be risky at night

6.  Central and outer sunset -- Asians

7.  Inner Sunset (close to UCSF) -- could be any type, but upper middle class

8.  Central and outer richmond -- Asians / Russians

9.  Inner Richmond -- could be any type, but upper middle class

 

If you are in SF for internship/summer job, suggest Hayes Valley or Noe Valley or North Beach

 

AVOID Embarcadero or Mission Bay, most bland boring souless area !!

 

Overall, only 3 neighborhoods in SF I definitely recommend avoid: Tenderloin, Hunters Point and Bayview.
