Can you feel yourself when you are with them? How much are you aware of yourself while you are in those moments?

It's likely that she totally forgets herself. Her mind is flooded by her friends and she has no worldly care whatsoever. Like a drug, she'll suffer withdraw afterwards, wanting the next fix.

Remind her to be aware of the role she is playing in those moments, and observe the roles others are playing. Have her ask herself why she feels the way she feels.

Degree of self-awareness is a measurement of maturity. A price is paid, whether she realizes it or not, to be immature for one's age.
