Sympathy is a tricky thing

 

男孩对别人都是毕恭毕敬， because he was fearful and he was protecting himself.  So, his servile manner was a shield.

就是对我不待见,  you were nice to him, but he had contempt for you.  He liked being forced but you were not forcing him.  By showing contempt, he didn't have to do anything for you.  He didn't deserve your sympathy.

Sympathy toward others may sometimes be a tell for needing sympathy from others.
