if i remember it right, the first report suspecting it is

airbone is from China. 

My personal opinion: passing through droplets is the most provalent way; airbone is much less efficient. So face masks are very efficient. Even if it is airbone, face masks cannot stop 100%, but will still greatly reduce the chance than nothing.
