儿子：Chauvin为啥不是被charged first degree or second degree murder?

我：因为first degree需要premeditation. Second degree需要intent to kill. 虽然没有预谋，一般是a crime of passion. 
儿子：可是我觉得Chauvin就是有intent to kill啊！我们查查Minnesota criminal law.

儿子：一个最高25年，一个最高10年，那加起来不就35年了。

我：如果Jury定他这两个罪，那么sentences are concurrent, not consecutive. 
儿子：你咋知道的？
