NMSP (National Merit Scholarship Program) administered by NMSC (National Merit Scholarship Corporation) consists of 3 types of Merit Scholarship awards which are:
(1) 1100 (this year only 1070) National Merit Scholarship (also know as corporate-sponsored Merit Scholarship awards), renewable.
(2) 2500 single-payment National Merit $2500 Scholarships, nonrenewable.
(3) 4600 college-sponsored Merit Scholarships (first choice college, some colleges like ivy league are not sponsor colleges).
