Help - 14 years old daughter wants to be a vionlinist

I have a 14 years old daughter who wants be a vionlinist. Here is her background: she has been played on piano for 7 years and won a national award on piano compition. She has been a recipient of numerous national awards on music composition. She has been played on vionlin for 5 years. Among piano, composition, and vionlin, the vionlin is her weakness one. However, she likes vionlin very much and she wants be a professional musician in the future.
However, people told me that you cannot survive with a music. As a parent, I don't what should I do? Encourage or discourage?
