Caltech is full of geeks & nerds; MIT has tons of hackers

A majority of Caltech graduates eventually get their Ph.Ds, and every year >50% seniors go directly to graduate schools.

At MIT, you have only ~25% seniors directly go on for graduate study.

Caltech is also more science/theoretically focused while MIT more engineering/practice.
