Just 10 or so yrs ago, an admission to an Ivy used to be a big news in town. Not only the parents were introduced to other people as "THE parents of xyz who got into hijk", but also the Chinese school/Church held seminars on "how to..."

Same can be said about a kid getting into likes of GS/McKinsey, immediately entitling claims such as "My Jenny is making BIG money!"---for months if not years.

But now such news is much like milk that expires next week...

Perhaps, people have become more humble and modest?
