take boys out to a hilly woody place, and play a nerf war game.

Boys need these activities to release energy, and they learn a lot  from these experiences too. When my son was this age, he and his friend had a female teacher chase them to a boy's bathroom. She suspected them plotting something nasty. Then the principle spent several saturdays with them to clean up  school library as punishment because the boys didn't have "remorse".  I've never figured out what was the "crime"....
