Looks like the piano is ok for your son who is just beginning. $1200 might be a little high for a piece over 20 years old. The sound board should be ok but please check the felt pads on the hammers. You need to pay a hundred dollar or so to get it moved plus $70 or so to get it tuned regularly.

If you have more than 1 kids then I suggest to get a bigger piece (46") that sounds better and also they can use longer before their level calls for an upgrade to a baby grand.
