Fitting is a overblown concept. A lot of times not fitting is just because the student is not positioned appropriately or over positioned. A student spends 120% of the effort to be able to get into ivy schools and find that all his/her peers are smarter. Though I don't deny that there are some students like one school better than the other because of preference on different campus culture. But it's a relatively rare case.
