I do understand your situation and concerns, $250,000 is not small money, but it is not that big as well, if both of you have a good health, good job, you can find a retirement money anyway. If you can support her in the next 4 years, do not think about the retirement money, let her go where she wants to....4 years college is valueless for a person, I will make sure thet college she/he goes fits her/him- Will be easy handle the studies, enjoy the college life, like the coulture of the collge, like the city she/he will stay....
