Why do we 希望子（女）承父（母）业？ As I know,

Most parents here respects their children's interests and choice. In addition, even though a lot of kids get into Ivy schools and expect to get into medical school after graduation, but some may changed their mind later, and some may failed get into medical schools. So still very few really became doctors overall
