I think you might be comparing apples to oranges. The tuition and fees for each of these schools are about the same. A lot of it also depends on what extracurricular activities you want to participate in (eg how many international trips you want to take). Also, Stanford at $20k a year seems to be closer to the actual cost per student that the school incurs. In reality, tuition only covers about half of the actual costs, while the rest is covered by other sources, such as alumni contribution and, of course, school endowment.
