when did your kids start talking? Worried sick!

My son is 17 months now, and still cannot say a single word (not even mama, baba). He goes to a full time daycare, where English is spoken. We speak Chinese at home. Would this explain it? He seems fine otherwise, a happy, active child, excellent fine and gross motor skills.
