vision test for a kindergartener to be this year

My daughter will start K this coming fall, so we went to her Doctor for the paperwork, shots and test. Everything seems to be ok except her eyes. Look like she can only see half way of the chart. Even though the doctor said he will retest her 3.5 monthes later right b4 the school starts, I am still wonderring if there is anything else I should do? Pls recommend.
What I can think now listed below:
1, no more books for her b4 school starts. (wonderring if it is right / possible)
2, no TV
3, no computer game(so far, she only played computer games 3 or 4 times at home. Not sure how often she does in school)
4. stay outside, play ground, mountain,whereever except absolutely necessary(hard for me)

BTW both parents started wearing glasses since high school time. I don't want a 4 year old girl wear glasses. crying..
