I would pick UCLA

UIUC is a school in decline. The tuition difference isn't that significant.

Yes, it ranks higher in engineering and is well respected in industry, but the difference for the prospect of locating a job with a UIUC or UCLA degree will be small.

I would not favor a job seeker over another just because one is from UIUC, another UCLA.

It will depend entirely on individual merit.

Now, if you talk about MIT, Standford vs UIUC or UCLA, a job candidate from MIT and Stanford will clearly have an upper hand.
