Find kids same age as your child, help them establish friendship. Their Chinese will take off from there. Or help them make real friends from the camp, so that they want to communicate. I say that because I heard about a kid from China in my sons summer camp here, they say the poor child didn't make any friends, because no one know him. And everyweek, different kids come and go from the camp.
