You need to see a consoler. They say a lot so domestic abuse victims do not realize how serious the situation has become because they have been desensitized by the on and off bahavior of the abuser. If he is abusive one day and begs for forgiveness the next, you just let it go on until next time.

Don't let him hurt you and your children again. This is getting really dangrous. Don't let your or your child become a statistics!

Forget about his green card or whatever. This is your life or death decision.
