在这个论坛里，"名牌大学"的定义 = HYP.  每个月至少一次有关名牌大学的谈论.   更有甚者,

连常春藤有几所学校都不知道的 开口叫 Duke 和芝加哥大学 等等 二流大学. 

There are over 4000 universities/colleges in USA.  If a top 10 ranked one is only 二流, what about the rest of the 3990?

About 20% of HYP's freshmen classes are Asian.  So we are talking about 500 Chinese each year at the most.  Great if your kid got in.  However, don't feel too bad if your kid did not.  There are plenty of good schools out there.  向后退一步、海阔天空.  Both you and your kid's life will be alot easier if you could accept schools other than HYP. 

I don't mind if you call me 阿Q.  I strongly felt both none IVY schools my kids attending are great schools.  They provide plenty of opportunities, have a great group of peers, and really care about the growth of the students.   Yes, they might be of 二流大学 in many's eyes.  You know what, I am cool with that.
