So sad. My daughter's first "date"

Today it just occurred to me that she'll have a school dance party in a couple of days. So I asked her for some details. She said she got asked by a boy in her school to go with him. It's someone she's not interested in and sadly she doesn't know how to say "no" when in panic. They know each other in math club. And they both got accepted by the same high school. The worst of all, the guy is Indian, not even a cute Indian.  I know it's not anywhere close to relationship. But still feel upset that her first "date" will go like this. Just want to vent...
