From my understanding for most if not all colleges:

1. Green card holders are treated same as citizens in terms of financial aid (not international students anymore). I-485 pending is treated same as green card holders;

2. Green card holders may not qualify for some loans and merit-based scholarships but it's not very important anymore if you got financial aid.
