general intelligence, maturity, interpersonal skills and ability to manage a project are all much more important than undergrad majors. while it is a definite advantage to be a Wharton undergrad when looking for a job on Wall Street, I can assure you that there are more political science majors than math majors in the Wall Street investment banking analyst pool.
