1。 我认为两个都可以。the fastest way to lose love is to hold it too tightly 是一种陈述。如果一个人向另一个人说：hold the string tight, 那他强调的是tightness， 不是如何hold。

2。哈哈。我的猜想是作者给个讲演。当时他想说：

It is this fragile thread that binds us to each （other）。

但由于某种原因（如他以为这样说好象不常见 etc）， 他就把other改成了together：

It is this fragile thread that binds us together。

但是因为他在讲话，不能把’to each‘删掉， 后来别人把他讲演写成文字时，就出现了：

It is this fragile thread that binds us to each together。

哈哈

当然更简单的解释是别人把作者的文章抄来抄去， 多抄了的‘to' （轻读，哈）

把to去掉就好了：

It is this fragile thread that binds us each together。
