if possible, split your stay into 2 campsites

One near the North part and one near the South part of the park - that way you dont have to drive long distance back to campsite at night.

Lamar Valley is best visited either at dawn or at dusk for animal viewing and it would be tough to do if all your stays are at campsite near the Lake.
