To view animal, best time is always morning or evening. I met bison at evening.

For Canyon view, since it has two side, theoratically, one side is good for morning and the other for evening. I visted Canyon in morning and both side are OK.

For the rest of Yellowstone, timing is not a big issue.

BTW,

I left Yellowstone at Grand Village and drove passed Grand Teton. There was not a lot of thing to do in Grand Teton. I could not see lots of wild life at Oxbend. The Weather was not good so I did not drive to Signal Mountain and could do boating.

Toke a shuttle boat accross Jenny and hike to Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point takes about 2-3 hours, strenuous.
