Feedback please: Nikon D5300 or Canon T5i?

I have the following questions to ask, and any feedback is really appreciated:


1. Nikon D5300 vs Canon T5i
  which one is better?

2. Nikon D5300
 - with 18 - 140mm lens : $1049 + tax . Is it a good deal?
 - with 18 - 200 mm lens: plus additional $350
  Which one for long terms use ?

Usage:
I will be travling around in next few months,  but don't want to carry
multiple lens. In addition, I am not a pro level user.
