They really want to help you to look after the children. If in laws are middle class , they sometimes can give you a hand if it do not affect their life style. If your in laws are upper middle class, you will not expect any help from them.

My friend A: her parent in laws are on benefit. When her gave birth to her son, her mother in law came to cook, to iron, and to do cleaning.

My friend B: her parent in laws are welthy people. Her son got red rash all over the body and she asked them for help. They refused even come to the house to have a look. They said it maybe infectious.
