This situation is this:
In closer-in communities such as Bethesda, Rockville, prices remain very strong, there may have been some appreciation than depreciation. There is no hope of finding much bargain in areas within 10 miles to DC. However, if you drive out 5-10 more miles, you will see pretty big price drop. For example, in Germantown, you may see 10-15% drop. In Clark*****urg, you may see similar case.
For Fairfax county, the situation is similar to Montgomery county, anywhere within 10 miles to DC can hold the price very strongly. However, you may be able to find lots of bargain in Chantily or Herndon, you may get huge bargain in Manassas or Sterling due to strong foreclosures there. In general, VA side suffered more than MD side.
