You know what, USA actually strengthens its positions

during a bad recession. Every recession makes USA stronger, not weaker. Because USA controls all the world's resources in energy, finance and technologies, when USA get a cough, the whole world will eventually get serious sickness. For example, investment environment will get very worse in China in next 2-5 years, causing more immigration to the USA and more flight-to-quality of capital movement to the USA. The weak dollar is actually setting a stage for such eventual happening. The hidden strategy is for USA to go into recession first, then forcing other weaker nations to collapse, then sucking all their creams into USA as a natural flight-to-quality movement. In the end, when all is settled, USA will come out stronger.

That's the only piece of good news for USA today :-)
