The only industries which are NOT in recession are a selected segmentation of high tech and oil. If other core industries - namely pharmaceuticals, financials, manufacturing etc are already in recession for a wihle, how long the tech industry which simply provides optional tools for already recessioned groups can last?

This is why I said at the first day of 2008 that index and mutual fund performance are less promising this year.

Our best hope is that the recession is short-lived. However, it is election year. You might see bunch of political terms like "slow down", "correction" or even governmental intervention with tax money.
