This is the question I don't think I am able to answer. I am not a market timer nor good at it. I don't like to mislead people by simply saying buy or sell. And today is really a tough day to test investor's nerve.

I have two types of accounts: my core holding and my trading account. I use different strategies to play the market.

In my core holding account, I totally ignore what happens in the stock market. I contribute money to it every month and add it to my very well picked index funds and managed funds. As a long term, young investor who still has 25 t 30 years before retire, I would be very glad to see market crash or down big time, so I can buy cheap equities today and can be rich when I retire. For people who is 5 years away from retirement, this market is not for you.

In my trading account which is less than 10% of my total asset, I try to time the market. I sold half position last Thursday when market was reversed and currently have 50% cash in hand. Here, as a trader, I think the weakness will continue until FED has another rate cut. I don't like oil stocks, I think oil sector is having its last dance here. When 2008 election starts, republican has to do something about the high oil price if they want any chance to win. Oil companies are start to show weakness even with oil price surging. I like Bank stocks and Health Care stocks. I bought BAC today. That is the only buy today. I will buy back CAT maybe next week. AFSI is another stock I am willing to buy. That leaves one space for a tech stock, not sure yet, maybe VCLK.
