The US does benefit a lot from the cheap goods and services from the developing nations, but it is not unilaterally deploiting these countries by running a trade deficit. The US has the technology and know-how to better invest the surplus of, and for the developing nations. Eventually the benefits spill over to these nations as well.
Imagine how long it would have taken China or India, alone, to invent the computer, the Microsoft Windows, and the internet?
