Valentine's surprise/Summary of 2012 investment

Got roses from LD in the morning which is routine.

Surprise - My son called me at noon and told me that he got his first summer intern as a freshman. I am fairly happy. 

He almost dropped out of his high school a few year ago. He was my biggest investment (in time) for the last 3 years. I went through many sleepless nights ......  He got into a top IVY school in 2012 and most importantly I think he finally grows up.  I consider it is my most valuable investment gain in 2012. 

I have learned a lot from this forum, and I would like to say "happy new year' and "happy Valentine"to all.

On a side note, finally Sherriff removed the tenant from my house.  They left a bunch of stuff.  Do I need to send the evicted tenant a letter notifying them to remove the stuff by law or can I simply just trash them?  I am in CA.
