Robert Kiyosaki, famed author behind inspirational wealth guide 'Rich Dad, Poor Dad', watch his company Rich Global LLC. lose a $24 Million (USD) lawsuit. Filed by "The Learning Annex" and founder/chairman, Bill Zanker, it's the results of business gone bad. Kiyosaki's response, the author simply filed for corporate bankruptcy, a Donald-Trumph-like business move.

"Oprah believed in him, and Will Smith believed in him, but he didn't keep his promise to us," said Bill Zanker of the lawsuit.

Indeed, it seems Robert Kiyosaki, did not keep his promise. The multi-million dollar lawsuit stems from the author not paying "The Learning Annex" for making his brand famous. The company agreed to give the 'Rich Dad, Poor Dad' author a platform to upscale media attention and sales for a percentage of sales.

"I took Kiyosaki's brand and made it bigger. The deal was I would get a percentage and he reneged," Bill Zanker said.

Not a bad deal if you're an author who's failed high school 3 times and need direction. Since "The Learning Annex" and Zanker got involved with Robert Kiyosaki, the critically acclaimed 'Rich Dad, Poor Dad' book has sold over 26 million copies worldwide. Kiyosaki has gotten co-signs from Will Smith and even Oprah, two of the most recognized and trusted brands in the world.

Not only due a portion of book sales, Zanker also makes it clear Kiyosaki was to share a portion of other profits. From speaking engagements to public appearances, the Learning Annex invested money in Kiyosaki to receive a fair share of all money netted.

Mr Kiyosaki has yet to respond publicly to the $24MM dollar settlement.

Mike Sullivan, CEO of 'Rich Dad Co', told reporters Robert Kiyosaki is still great regardless. Using a known Donald Trumph tactic, the author filed corporate bankruptcy, protecting his other wages and investments from the lawsuit.

“I can’t do anything about a $20 million judgment…We got hit for what we think is a completely outlandish figure,” said the Rich Dad Co CEO.

'Rich Dad, Poor Dad' was published in 1994. Robert Kiyosaki has went on to publish 11 books since. The author is now an US investor, self-improvement author, motivational speaker, and financial literacy activist. It's said he failed high school 3 times in Hawaii as a youth, before championing various business markets at age 65.
