to save water, you can build a rain barrel

A decent rain can fill up a 65-lb barrel in 15 minutes. Thus as long as there is a decent rain every 2 weeks, you have enough water. We have been through a hot summer with way below average rain fall, especially in July. I built another rain barrel.

Besides water saving, rain barrel can also greatly reduce water run off, which helps the foundation as well as basement.
