newer appliances last shorter than older model

I had this experience before. After I moved out from my old house, I bought brand new refrigrators for both my old house as rental property and my new house as primary residence. Both Regrigirators had issues after 3-4 year.

I am glad that I still keep the old washer and dryer, they are already 13 years, never have any issue.
