If it is only the attic(4-500 sqf) you can do it 2 person 2 days

1 find out studs, drill holes between studs. (1/2 day)

2. pump in insulation (1 day)

3. patch holes, clean up (1/2day)

material cost : 10 rolls of insulation ($300), machine rental ($50), misc. supplies ($25).

If you have carpet in the attic, buy some plastic sheets and staple to floor. Much easier for cleaning.
