Language skills (vocabuary, grammar, idioms, jargons, slangs etc) are critical for getting what you need/want in a corporation. Particularly when things are in a grey area, you need to be able to state stuff inteligently but no illegal.

Great public speaking skills are essential to have a chance to get beyond middle management level.
