Good thought, for me

Gold is only for pieces of bread in critical time. I learn this lesson from my grand parents. They stored more than 10 jars gold and jewlry underground, exchanged them into food and clothing in the difficult time to make family live.

I think gold should be part of asset, small portion <10%. You never know what's happened tomorrow.
