I use all 3 of the above..

1. excel is easiest, can keep detail expenses, but year end is headache.

2. quickbook is easy, can not keep detail expenses, yearend is easy,

3. peachtree is very complicated, can keep detail expenses, yearend is easy.

 

I think the main reason to using a package software is year end report and tax preparation.....
