paralegal add name to deed

Could someone share the similar experience to me? thank you very much!

Currently we have a property paid off, it is under my hu*****and's name alone. I signed "disclaim of deed" at the closing date (10 years ago) since the loan was under my hu*****and's name alone at that time.

Right now I would like to add my name to the deed, and asked a title company. They said they could not add my name to the deed since we don't do the refinance with purchasing the title insurance. so they could not do anything. and introduced me to a paralegal to add my name onto the deed.

I just talked to the paralegal, they said they just looked at the deed, and prepare the new deed, and do the recording. The total is about $250. Is this the right process, and cost reasonable?
