Is "New American Funding" at Irvine Safe?

I am leaving California and am thinking about refinancing my house if I can not sell it. I recently recieved a notice from New American Funding and called them for more information. Rate and charge are better than BOA and Wells Fargo. However, I do not know if it is safe to use it. Really appreciate if anybody can share your experience with this "company"?
