Do not cash the check for now, there is always a way...

Because my custodian sent my pretax $ to my Roth by mistake, after months of back and forth, they reversed the transactions...at minimum you can roll the check to any brokerage and buy back the same stocks within X amount of time, I think you are safe pls double check with your CPA...
