Hunter Horsley, CEO of Bitwise, and other executives echoed the sentiment, warning that higher taxes on unrealized capital gains could stifle entrepreneurship and push firms toward more crypto-friendly states such as Texas or Florida.

"Many who’ve made this state great are quietly discussing leaving or have decided to leave in the next 12 months," he said.
